4th grade= FUN!
Another fabulous GT day! We started off the day with learning facts about Da Vinci then we looked at some hilarious projects about masterpieces. We tried to figure out how to play a Ratio Game because Mrs. Horan wanted us to work together to see if we could do it on our own. We got stuck so Mrs. Horan showed  us what a ratio was and she backed it up with a video about them. We now know what that math word means and we tried several problems to see if we could get it, and we did! We also looked on SCRATCH together as a class, helping each other with things we had learned. Gloria made Mrs. Horan a birthday card by coding. She was very happy! After that  we had to figure out how to  build a catapult by ourselves, using the materials Mrs. Horan had out for us. We could pick from balloons, cups of different sizes, spoons, yarn, tape, straws, bamboo sticks, and more.  Later we launched them! We ended the day by sitting on the carpet and reading Chasing Vermeer. It was a spectacular day! By Gloria- 4th grade blogger

Dominance,  Balloons, and Socrates.
Today was a short day because of early dismissal. We worked on Hands on Equations, which were challenging and then went to the computer lab to work on Scratch to design our holiday card. We discussed parts of the brain and what each of the three parts did. When we were done we played games to see what our dominant side was. We took some eye test by looking through a tube, and another one by making our hands in a triangular shape and focusing in on something. We took a hand/arm test by writing, picking up a cup of water, and throwing a ball. The foot and leg test were fun too. We ran and jumped to see what leg we jumped off of and we dropped kicked a ball to see what foot we would kick off of. We found out that most professional sports players are right handed.

After that we went to specials and ate lunch in the G/T room with Mrs. Horan. Finally, it was Balloon Racing time! The whole fourth grade was our audience! Michael was our winner for distance, Ishan was our winner for speed, and Alexa was our winner for best decorated.
