Wrapping up the School Year!

Well, it is hard to believe that the 2014-2015 school year is coming to an end.
Here is what each grade level said about their GT experience.

Kindergartners

  • I liked the surprises that you had for us every week like the kaleidoscope, puzzles, and more.
  • I like your science table and the rocks, turtle shell, bugs, and nest.
  •  I liked the Lorax project and how we drew cool stuff.
  • In math we counted beans and how we we allowed to invite a friend.

SECOND GRADERS
  • I liked the magical tree and other stuff we should be doing  at home but nobody does.
  • We get to do lots of science experiments but   I really liked algebra.
  • I liked being with you, Mrs. Horan and all my friends.
  • I like how you gave us challenging math problems.
  • I liked Punished and other books we read together.
  • The geometry city was cool because fifth graders are doing what we are doing.
  • The feeling you get when you know other kids are doing this in higher grades is cool.
  • The science table and pets we had were cool too.
  • So, the best thing about GT is being in an advanced class and you can ask Mrs. Horan just about anything.

THIRD GRADERS
  • I liked the Genius Hour and that we got to study something that we were interested in learning.
  • I liked the algebra antics and  the Fibonacci Code.
  • I liked the free time while letting our brains still work.
  • We sometimes got to listen to music.
  • I liked the field trip to Encino Park where we learned about all types of technology.
  • We always were learning new things, especially 8th grade math.
  • We got to dissect sheep brains and learn about parts of the brain.
  • We learned about our own thinking and what side of our brain worked more than the other.
  • We learned good things that will help prepare us for the future.
  • I liked that we got to eat  lunch with Mrs. Horan every Tuesday.
  • I liked how we read Phantom  Tollbooth and Tuck Everlasting.
  • I liked our class pets, especially the snakes.

 FOURTH GRADE -
  • I loved how we were all able to be very creative and how we got to expand our learning.
  • I liked reading Wednesday Wars  and all about the 60's era, but what I liked most was my teacher and being with you.
  • You challenged us with your expectations and you were always giving us real life situations.
  •   I liked the crime scene and how we uncovered a mystery, I loved how you taught us to look for clues and how to take fingerprints for evidence.
  •  I LOVED algebra and dissecting sheep eyes.
  •  I loved learning about Shakespeare and Leonard Da Vinci.
  • I loved how you were  able to challenge my learning. The curriculum was great.
  • Chasing Vermeer was one of the best books I have ever read. I liked everything you taught us and if got the opportunity to have you as my homeroom teacher next year, I would take that in a heart beat.
  • You won't let us give up and you won't give us the answer right away.
  • I like how you tell us stories about your past.
  •  You never tell us you are terrible. Even when we are not on our best behavior!
  • I like how you don't like rats, it's funny.
  •  I like how you motivate us, even when we are having trouble.
  • Hands on activities.
  • You keep us on track.
