SURVIVAL!  
Well, sometimes the lesson you had planned sort of goes off o
n a tangent of its own, as we well learned today. After talking about cold fronts and how quickly weather can changed ( if you live in Texas you know exactly what I am talking about), our conversation lead to what a person would need to survive in their home if they knew they might be stranded there for a few days. It was a perfect opportunity to teach the students the words,"cabin fever", since none of them had heard of it before. Students were given 30 minutes to illustrate what objects they felt were necessary for them to survive. Below are the results....

FIRST GRADERS

The fifth graders chose a topic they were most passionate about and created their own quote. They signed their names too, "in case we ever become famous".

Today the 4th graders went to the computer lab to explore different web-site (see below), designed diamante poems, wrote letters to George W.Bush (we will tell you later if we got a response), played Telestory on the iPads, presented our homework, learned how to design infographics, and more! How in the world did we get that all done in one day?
